Having worked as a commercial banker with a regional bank before becoming an attorney, Mr. Guerra brings a businessman's perspective to his litigation practice. His areas of specialty include banking and insurance-related matters, creditors' and debtors' rights, receiverships, asset liquidations, shareholder and partnership disputes, construction litigation, business torts and breaches of contract. Mr Guerra has also handled numerous professional liability matters, securities claims, disputes over intellectual property licenses and antitrust cases. He has tried cases before juries, judges, domestic and international arbitrators and administrative agencies, with numerous million dollar-plus verdicts and awards, and has argued appeals in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Guerra has been a Director of the Dade County Trial Lawyers' Association and was the first Chairman of its Commercial Litigation Section. He co-authored the "Operating Statement for Business Court Pilot Program, 11th Judicial Circuit, Dade County, Florida" to be used as the operational rules and procedures for an experimental program being pursued in the local circuit courts. Mr. Guerra graduated from the University of Miami (B.B.A. Finance, 1983; J.D. 1986), where he was a member of the Law Review and the Moot Court Board. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1986 and is also a member of the Bar of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Cuban-American and Miami-Dade County Bar Associations.
